PRECISION APPROACH™ Partners with Snow Angel Foundation to Elevate On-Mountain Decision-Making and Safety Awareness

Collaboration brings real-time rider awareness technology and performance-based safety mindset to the ski and snowboard community

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — May 4, 2026 — PRECISION APPROACH™ today announced a strategic partnership with the Snow Angel Foundation (SAF), aligning its rider-focused safety technology with one of the ski industry’s leading safety awareness organizations.

The partnership brings a new dimension to on-mountain safety—focused not just on awareness, but on helping riders make better decisions before they ever leave the ground.

AIR INTELLIGENCE BY PRECISION APPROACH™ LiDAR-powered system is designed to improve safety and elevate the guest experience in terrain parks by helping riders better understand how to approach features at appropriate speeds. The technology also monitors landing zones—areas that are often difficult or impossible to see from the start—providing real-time awareness of potential conflicts. By combining LiDAR and camera technology, the system delivers actionable insights that help riders assess risk, adjust their approach, and make more informed decisions.

At its core, the system functions as an intelligent “abort warning” tool—giving riders the ability to recognize when conditions or approach speeds fall outside safe parameters, reducing the likelihood of overshooting or undershooting jumps and the injuries that can follow.

This approach aligns closely with the Snow Angel Foundation’s mission to reduce collisions and serious injuries through education, awareness, and personal responsibility.

“Performance and safety are inseparable when you’re operating in dynamic environments like a terrain park,” said Jim Jacobs, Chief Operating Officer of PRECISION APPROACH™. “Many incidents aren’t the result of a lack of skill—they come down to decision-making in the moment. Our focus is on giving riders better information before they commit to a feature, so they can adjust, abort if needed, and ultimately make safer choices. Partnering with the Snow Angel Foundation allows us to bring that capability into a broader conversation about awareness and responsibility on the mountain.”

Through the partnership, Snow Angel Foundation will incorporate Precision Approach concepts into its safety messaging, on-mountain events, and educational outreach—reinforcing the Foundation’s Triangle of Safety principles of self, space, and speed with practical, real-world applications.

Founded after a tragic on-mountain collision, the Snow Angel Foundation has become a leading voice in promoting safety culture across the snow sports industry.

“Precision Approach brings a practical, on-the-ground solution to one of the most challenging aspects of mountain safety—what happens in the moment before a decision is made,” said Chauncy Johnson. “Their ability to give riders better visibility and awareness in terrain parks, complements our work in education and advocacy. This partnership is about helping people make better choices before something goes wrong.”

The partnership will include joint outreach to ski areas, integration into safety campaigns, and engagement during key industry events such as the NSAA National Convention. Together, PRECISION APPROACH™ and the Snow Angel Foundation aim to strengthen safety culture by addressing one of the most critical factors in injury prevention: informed decision-making.
